DESCRIPTION
An interactive, 3D platform where you can explore, customize, and share 3D views of human anatomy, physiology, diseases, and treatments. Biodigital Human is an online platform (not only in English) that allows to deal with the study of anatomy using a splendid representation of the human body in 3D accompanied by information and explanatory sheet. Biodigital is completely free and requires registration, but there is also a premium version. In order to make the most of it, you need to have a browser that supports advanced graphics performance.

Biodigital Human is very intuitive to use. Once registered at the service the users can build and customize own models, through a series of tools in the section “explore” that allow to isolate the sections that interest most and mark them in various ways, including texts. It’s possible to choose whether to explore the entire anatomy of the male or female, or to discover the anatomy of individual systems, apparatuses, sections. Each exploration can be saved in its own dashboard “My library”, where the user can customize, manage and publish it at any time; the saved models can share with the Biodigital community through an embed code or link that it can inserted into own learning platform.

The BioDigital Human is the first cloud based virtual model of the human body. It provides powerful toolkits to build custom experiences. From integration, to 3D manipulation, to assessments and data visualization the BioDigital Human provides a better way to engage students and lower the barriers to understanding complex health information. It can be used to explore human anatomy as well as teaching about various health conditions. It's a great tool for learners ranging from middle school kids to upper school pupils fascinated with the human body. Static images of books hardly provide an integrated view between the various apparatuses and at the same time these are too schematic and do not provide all the details that only a 3D vision can give. Beside in the elaboration of knowledge students can use the images and their own library to develop animations commented by them that relate to issues such as: the path of products digestion of a food within the body, the effect of a stressful situation on our body, hormonal activity during a day. In conclusion this platform is great for student resources. For the scientific reliability I can judge the visionabile one, and not the one offered by the paid pro version. If my colleagues and students asked me what platform to suggest to explore the human body, I would have no doubt.
