OBJECTIVES OF ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT:
This phase is devoted to develop guidelines addressed to teachers, school directors and policy makers to effectively implement ICT based methodologies for teaching sciences at secondary school level. The Intellectual Output is structured in 3 Areas: - Area 1 - A literature review of methodologies and strategies related to the introduction of ICT support in schools for teaching sciences. - Area 2 - Guidelines for teachers providing methodological and operative insights to make them able to effectively design ICT based science teaching learning objects for their lessons. - Area 3 – Guidelines for School Directors and Policy makers in order to outline a suggested strategy for the mainstreaming of the implementation of innovative ICT based approaches to teach Sciences at Secondary school level.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT:
Discussion with Pixel about the partners role in the production of the literature review and creation of a detailed plan. Meeting with researchers to discusse the outline of the literature review and planning for the case studies and interviews in Ronna school. Interviews and discussions about the literature review including case studies and interviews with five teachers in Ronna school: 5 February, 19 February, 5 March, 4 April, 28 May, 12 November and 3 December. The discussions, interviews and description of cases from the teachers were recorded and transcribed. Search for research articles and writing the introduction of the literature review. Preparation of the part about the Swedish national policy, Europe policy and collecting and integrating the partners national policy documents in the literature review article. Searching Swedish research articles for the literature review. Collecting partners’ Case studies and interviews from different schools for integration in the literature review. Meetings to discuss the content of modul 1 of the Guideline. The outline and content of the Area 2 Guideline has been discussed and started to be written. Writing Guidelines modul 1 Desirable digital competencies for teaching science. Writing Guidelines modul 4 Appropriate tools for teaching science using digital tools. Discussion about Area 3 and writing of Guidelines for Policy makers first chapter Desirable digital competencies for teaching science and the parts about Sweden. Revision of translated Guidelines for teachers and Guidelines for Policymakers in Swedish.
RESULTS ACHIEVED:
A final version of Area 1 literature review. An outline of Guidelines and a draft version of the text (Area 2). A final version of Area 2 and Area 3 (Guidelines) in English and in Swedish
