OBJECTIVES OF ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT:
This phase is dedicated to the creation of a set of operative tools to be used by the science teachers to make effective use of ICT based teaching methods and materials through a fully Digital awareness. The Intellectual Output contents will be organized in 3 main areas: - Area 1: it will contain a set of competence assessment tools to be used by science teachers to identify the gaps of knowledge as far as Digital competences are concerned that prevent them in effectively use ICT based methods and teaching tools with their students. - Area 2: it will contain a selection of existing ICT learning objects for Science Teaching identified, analysed, classified and presented to the teachers by the higher education experts - Area 3: Collection of new learning objects created by the School teachers on their own, by reflecting on new ways of using ICT support and Learning Objects in their teaching practice.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT:
UNIGE is collaborating with Machiavelli school regarding the identification of science teaching and learning objects and the development of new tools for science teaching and learning. UNIGE researchers have identified a number of digital competence assessment tools and completed review forms for these. They have also reviewed existing science learning objects. The digital competence assessment tools section attributed to UNIGE was compiled and sent for review. UNIGE compiled ICT digital competence assessment questions and submitted them for feedback. A number of science learning tools were identified and these have to be converted to science learning objects. Dissemination activities.
RESULTS ACHIEVED:
A discussion took place at the virtual meeting about the distinction between learning objects and learning tools. A sample of a learning object was circulated by the project leads. Work is on-going to convert the existing learning tools identified in usable and useful learning objects. Meeting between HEI and school being arranged, meanwhile, communications have been made. IO2 tool has been finished and approved.
